Our weather in New England has been CRAZY hot. Like mid to late summer temperatures. All weekend long I have been outdoors from Cameron’s soccer, golf, and t-ball games and sneaking in some yard work. With the hot temps and time outdoors I have been craving everything iced. My favorite treat to have on hot days like this weekend is iced matcha. You may have caught it over on my Instagram in this REEL but I thought I would also share how to make the best iced matcha! It is so simple you will find yourself making it all the time!
The Best Iced Matcha
1. Steam your water – I usually will steam about a quarter to half cup of water in my electric kettle. I love this mini SMEG Electric Kettle. It literally takes under 2 minutes to heat up water!
2. Use a packet of matcha latte mix – This is the matcha latte mix I use. It comes in individual pouches but you can also buy it in a bag. There is a light amount of sweetness to it already so you don’t have to add any sugar (unless you like it super sweet). If you are craving something warm, it also makes an excellent hot matcha latte.
3. Whisk – Whisking is key! You want all of the powder to be completely combined. I use this frother from Amazon.
4. Add ice – This is a simple step! I usually just add enough ice to fill the jar.
5. Milk – I use a cup of my favorite milk. I like to use almond milk the best but you can use whatever you prefer!
I love matcha because it is high in antioxidants and makes me feel more alert. There are so many other benefits such as Matcha such as a boosted immune system, the possibility of it improving heart health, and it is great for your skin. Personally, it gives me less of a caffeine crash at the end of the day. Have you ever tried matcha? Let me know in the comments!
