In every day life it is sometimes hard to feel inspired. Day in and day out you do the same things. You get up, feed your kids, get dressed, go to work, and do it all over again and again and again. You compare yourself to others, you wish for things you don’t have, and you can get down on yourself easily. I know I can feel uninspired by the day to day activities and have had plenty of times where I can’t help but compare myself to others. In fact, I sometimes feel uninspired by writing strictly about fashion and how I style each piece. It doesn’t always seem authentic and it isn’t what I worry about day to day.
You may have noticed already, but over the past few weeks my blog has made a little bit of a change. If you have been following me for a long time you already know how much I love fashion but in this current point in my life, I have a love for something else. That something else is my family. You may have noticed more iPhone photos and more selfies and that’s simply because those moments are real.
You may begin to see more posts with Cameron, with my husband, and more posts with meaning. You may see posts about beauty, fashion, and what we are eating this week but you will also find posts to also feel inspired by!
Yesterday, I heard a quote and it really stuck with me..
“Thoughts turn into things so choose the right ones.”
By feeling inspired by this I decided to sit down and write this post. This post is meant to share some ways I have been feeling inspired lately!
Today’s post has been something I have been wanting to put together for quite some time! As many of you know, I have a career outside of blogging. I work for an amazing company during the day but at night and on the weekends, I spend a lot of time on my blog. Sometimes this means working 80 hour weeks between the two. But to be quite honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have been able to connect with so many people in ways that I never thought were possible and I have been able to feel more confident in my life and career. Today’s post is meant to share a few tips for those of you who are interested in becoming a blogger, are already a blogger, or if you’re just looking for some fashion inspiration! Keep reading to find out more about how I got my start in blogging and a few ways I keep myself motivated!
Galentines Day has always been something I have wanted to celebrate. I have had a Valentine for the past 10 years and wouldn’t change it at all but I also love to celebrate my gal pals. The problem with that is my best friends live hours away from me. But when I finally had the chance to plan special day with my Galentine I was so excited and headed to LOFT to pick up some of my favorite pieces and of course something to gift to her! I don’t think Galentine’s Day gifts need to be something big. Just something to show how much you appreciate your best gal pal and her never ending willingness to listen to you, shop with you, and be there when you need her the most! Keep reading to see what we gifted each other and how we celebrated!
The holiday rush is over and today I wanted to share a look I purchased to wear to an event a few weeks ago. The event was a local shopping event and I knew I wanted something that I would be able to be comfortable in all day long! Lately, I seem to have an affinity for off the shoulder sweaters. Even one of my good friends mentioned to me that I must have a ton in my closet, which she is correct! I can’t stop purchasing them in any and all colors. I love the look of them and this one which is a fringe off the shoulder sweater has to be one of my favorites!
My buddy and I have conquered a lot this year. We have gone on countless road trips, learned from each other, cried on hard days, and had endless amounts of laughs and snuggles. Today, I wanted to share a post that I worked on late last month that I never got around to. I wanted to share these adorable teddy bear mom & baby jackets that of course I purchased so that we would match! If you are familiar with my posts you know how much I love to match with Cameron. You can see a few of my favorite posts here, here, and here! Also, if you are ever in need of any type of baby inspiration, you can head right to the Baby category right under my recent posts!
This morning has been a mom morning for sure. I thought that sleep regression was over for Cameron however we have encountered a new stage of sleep regression! With Cameron turning 9 months old tomorrow it seems as though he is suddenly going through a ton of changes. He is talking more and more, wanting to be more independent, and wanting to move like crazy. I swear the boy is going to walk before he crawls! We have decided to start him on more solids and finger foods so he can learn how to feed himself more. For example, this morning he had scrambled eggs, toast, and bananas and he couldn’t have been happier! Since my morning was such a mom morning, I decided I would share a post on these fun, comfortable flats designed specifically for moms from Ja-Vie and my favorite Knit Your Love Cardigan!
