Last week I polled you guys on if you planned your outfits for the week. Some of you did but most of you, like me, didn’t! I felt the need to try outfit planning because I had spent three mornings the previous week changing in and out of clothes. Such a waste of time! I thought I would give it a try and share some tips I found along the way! Outfit planning on a weekly basis is kind of a foreign thing besides planning for a big event. To be honest, at first I was overwhelmed. I decided to go all out on a Sunday afternoon and give it a try.
With NO clue what I was going to wear, the thought of New England weather started to give me anxiety. I felt that I was going to change my mind a million times no matter what! Keep reading to see what I ended up doing and head to my Instagram to check out some stories I filmed during the week to document!
OUTFIT PLANNING
When it came to planning five outfits for Monday-Friday, I wanted simplicity. A handful of outfits that could possibly be interchangeable was what I was going for in case I suddenly had the urge to wear something different. Knowing I wanted to stick with a similar color palette to make that simple so I grabbed some blues, whites, a fun graphic sweatshirt and a cute floral print to start. The weather was also a major factor so I checked that. New England can be unpredictable, but luckily this week was full of sunny days so each of the outfits I picked would have worked any day of the week!
After I checked the weather, I cleaned off my rather messy garment rack and shelves. Cleaning it out made me happy to do because it was something I actually NEEDED to do. My office is so much cleaner since I took the time to do so. Then I hung up my hangers, just enough for the days of the week and went back down to my closet to grab everything I needed. I grabbed FOUR pairs of jeans, THREE pairs of shoes, and one top for every day of the week. I grabbed four pairs because I thought I could wear them multiple times and have extra options. Same with the shoes!
MONDAY
On Monday, I had a meeting with my new boss so decided to go with a blouse instead of something even more casual. At my job, I can dress very casual so I wear jeans most days of the week! These jeans are SO comfortable! I recently purchased them from LOFT and find myself reaching for them over and over again. It also was a nice day out so I knew that a light blousey material would be just fine!
TUESDAY
Another beautiful sunny day! This was actually what I had planned for Wednesday but when I saw the weather I decided a cami and cardi would do! I love this cardi because you can tie it in a wrap in the front as well as leave it open to have it shorter in the back and longer in the front! This is a pretty light blue color but I found it below in grey!
WEDNESDAY
SO if you caught this Instagram post, you saw that Cameron did not sleep on Tuesday night. We were up with him from 2AM-4AM singing let it go and asking him to close his eyes. LOL #MOMLIFE. This made me want to dress comfy and casual oh and drink loads of Nespresso. I was happy I grabbed this comfy Rolling Stones sweatshirt for the week because it was just exactly what I needed. The only thing I did change was a different pair of jeans. I didn’t put these jeans in my pile originally but decided I wanted to wear these ones because of how comfortable they are. Also, I of course wore my Veja sneakers which have been my go to pair for weeks now!
THURSDAY
I actually did not end up getting a photo for Thursday but I had one in the top I wore from a different day. It was another nice day so I grabbed for another cute blousey top. This one is also from LOFT and has the cutest ruffle details. I wore these booties again but switched up the jeans to my J.Crew Factory button front jeans. They are super flattering and a great wash! I linked them below!
FRIDAY
Friday was the only day I decided to stray! Making my self proud, I still stuck with my jeans and booties that I had taken out to wear but I put on a different top. Although I put on a different top because, I got it in the mail the night before and couldn’t help myself! This sweatshirt was purchased last week from Evereve and I couldn’t wait for it! I love the pretty pastel tie dye for spring! Linking it below!
What I didn’t wear this week
Overall I stuck with the plan almost every day but there were a few things I didn’t wear. The things I didn’t wear are the snakeskin sneakers, my denim jacket, and the eyelet top. One thing I didn’t wear the snakeskin sneakers because it turned out that they didn’t actually “go” with any of my outfits. I also changed my mind of Friday and went with this ZSupply sweatshirt instead!
It was a lot of fun planning out this post for you guys! Let me know what you think and I share my outfit planning again soon! Also, be sure to head to my Instagram to find more daily outfit inspiration and more!
