Happy Tuesday everyone! I know, I know it has been a long time since I was able to sit down and write out a post. We just returned from vacation and while we were away I took a break from everything. Facebook, Instagram, Blog, work, everything.. Since I was able to take a mental reset, I came back excited and ready to write some posts! I am hoping to be able to get on here every week to write a few posts and provide you with entertaining and informative information! I hope you will come to byQuinn on a daily basis to say hi!
Today’s post is something I have been wanting to put together for quite some time. Since I received a few new rings that I wanted to keep looking beautiful from Charles & Colvard I thought I would share how I currently clean my jewelry. I have been cleaning my jewelry at home for a few years now and wanted to share my simple hacks for cleaning jewelry and keeping them nice and shiny! All you need is a few things you probably already have at home and five minutes! Keep reading to see more!
Having shiny like new looking jewelry is much easier than you think! For the past few years I have been cleaning my jewelry at home with the easiest method possible. Today, I wanted to share two jewelry cleaning hacks to keep your jewelry looking brand new! One is a tried and true method for me and one is a new method that I have just started to try!
METHOD ONE
First up, my tried and true method, literally! When we got engaged almost four years ago now, I started googling all sorts of ways to clean my rings. Of course I wanted to have shiny clean jewelry without having to have them cleaned all the time. I found the simplest way to clean them with something I had at home. Hot water and glass cleaner!
For this method, I grab a small bowl, fill it with hot water and sprayed about 5 sprays of the glass cleaner. My favorite glass cleaner is Method Glass + Surface Cleaner. I am constantly using this stuff! It is my favorite because it has a mint scent and works so well! I use it on windows, mirrors, my stove, my jewelry, everything! All you need to do is leave your jewelry in for 5 to 10 minutes and you have beautiful clean jewelry! If it has been a little while since the last time I have cleaned my rings, I leave them in for a little longer. After about 10 minutes, I can see the old lotion and dirt floating around in the bowl. Gross.. but I know they are clean! I rinse them with hot water again and am good to go!
METHOD TWO
The second way I have been cleaning my jewelry is a new way for me! After doing some research on ways to disinfect your jewelry, I came across some great ways to use essential oils for disinfecting. I LOVE Young Living Lemon Vitality for so many reasons. Number one is the amazing scent but lemon is also great for disinfecting. To use this method all you have to do is fill your bowl with hot water and use about three drops of oil. Leave in for five minutes and take out and rinse!
