Today’s post has been a post I have been meaning to do for a few weeks now. This year has been my favorite year yet. This year this little guy who immediately stole my heart came into the world and gave us love that we didn’t know was possible! He makes us smile day in and day out and we couldn’t be more proud of him. His big bright eyes show us his eagerness to learn, in fact I swear I can see his brain working as he tries to figure something new out!
In Cameron’s early months I put together a monthly post on him. Unfortunately, we moved and things got crazy and I didn’t have a chance to keep up. If you want to check out any of his posts click here. In his month by moth posts I shared all sorts of updates but I wanted to do a quick recap here as well as take some time to look forward to this spring and summer!
I am going to go backwards and recap his first year! Keep reading to see more!
13 MONTHS
Cameron is now 13 months! It is so crazy how time flies! He is currently babbling away, crawling, climbing, and exploring. Cameron does not walk just yet but I think it will be happening any day now! He is standing and balancing well and likes to push around his walkers. His current favorite is his Vtech Ultimate Alphabet Train. Some of his other favorite toys are his basketball and his VTech Go! Go! Smart Wheels Car Carrier. He loves playing outside and some of his favorite foods include chicken nuggets, blueberries, and cantaloupe. His sleep has not been very great since we moved and I think it is because he is not in his own space right now. The light is at the end of the tunnel though and we move into our new home next month after renovating! Cameron was an amazing sleeper up until about 8 months. I will share a little more about that below!
12 MONTHS
At 12 months Cameron was becoming more and more curious! We threw his first birthday party at our favorite pizza restaurant and made it “lucky” themed. We choose “lucky” since he was born on St. Patrick’s Day! We think we are pretty lucky to have this sweet boy! Cameron claps, waves, and says a few words! Ouch, uh oh, no, and danger. Instead of saying no we say danger and it is hysterical to hear him say it! We also think he says Brady but it sort of comes out like daddee!
11 MONTHS
Sleep was still a struggle at 11 months but had gotten better. He was sleeping through the night again but was waking up at 4:30am. This was tough for all of us. He would wake up cranky and we would be exhausted throughout the day. We decided to move forward his bed time and drop his last nap of the day. This got Cameron to sleep until about 5:30am which is still tough but better than 4:30am! We are hoping that once we are in our own home we will be able to sleep in a little longer! Cameron also started to clap at 11 months! It is the cutest thing ever!
10 MONTHS
At 10 months, Cameron was showing interest in all sorts of different finger foods. He started loving to eat gold fish and wanted to try everything we were eating. He still does this and he actually is not picky at all. I think that this is because we always let him try different things. At 10 months Cameron was finally crawling and boy did he crawl. Once he was on the move he was never stopping! He started to crawl so fast we couldn’t keep up! He also started to say some words such as “uh oh” and “ouchhh”!
9 MONTHS
Cameron’s obsession with balls began! I purchased him this set of Infantino Go GaGa Textured Ball Set while I was at Target one day and he absolutely loved them. Soon after he found my Pure Barre ball and his ball collection begun. He now sits and plays catch with us. He also has this VTech Smart Shots Sport Set that he absolutely loves! My mom taught him how to slam dunk the ball and now I swear he is going to be a basketball prodigy!
8 MONTHS
8 months began a new sleep schedule. Cameron started to wake up multiple times per night because he was getting his first teeth, finally! I thought he was never going to get any teeth! Those first little teeth buds were oh so cute but he was in pain. He was up multiple times per night and it made it hard to get through the day. This lasted until he was about 10 months.
7 MONTHS
At 7 months we moved! We sold our house and started to look for a new house. We decided to renovate our home which finding our new home took a little longer than we expected. Cameron had begun to show that he was ready to start crawling but was rocking back and forth. He would do this with a huge smile and show us how proud of himself he was. He begun trying more finger foods and showed us how much he hated pasta! He was still sleeping through the night and doing a great job!
So not to bore you, I decided to only go to where I left off! If you want to check out some of Cameron’s month to month posts six months, five months, four months, etc!
A few of our favorite places to shop are H&M and Nordstrom for his clothing! This summer we are looking forward to moving into our home, celebrating friends birthdays, and going on vacation to Maine! We are excited to take Cameron to the beach and teach him how to swim in our new pool!
