Weekend Away at Foxwoods

Weekend Away at Foxwoods

Last weekend Mark and I had a chance to have a weekend away at Foxwoods. As new parents, finding time to get away together is hard to come by so we jumped at the opportunity to head out of town for a quick night away! Of course we were sad to leave Cameron, but at the same time we were happy to be able to relax and spend some much needed quality time together. Normally when we look for a night away, we look for a place that is 1-2 hours away from our home. Foxwoods made the perfect overnight trip because it is only about an hour away from where we live. Mark and I try to do this every once in a while. It is nice to get a chance to sit down and have a meal alone together and to have conversations we normally wouldn’t have at home. An added perk of this trip was time to be able to sleep in! We had a full itinerary but we made sure to make time for us! Follow along to see more photos from our trip and to hear about our stay!

When we arrived at Foxwoods we headed straight to the VIP check in to check in to our room and receive details for our stay. This was wonderful because at the time we arrived there were so many people checking into the hotel. It was a busy weekend for Foxwoods, some of the A List entertainment for the weekend included a MMA fight as well as a country concert. Our check in was quick and we headed up to our room before our massage!

Right as we got up to the room we noticed there was a gorgeous sunset. Our room was on the 15th floor which gave us an amazing view of the land surrounding the 9+ million square foot property. We were excited to head down to our massage and to do some shopping and gambling but first we made a mini game plan. The property is comprised of seven casinos, four hotels, and 35 plus restaurants. There are two spas, the spa we visited was the G Spa, Tanger Outlets, six night clubs and two award-winning golf courses. One of the experiences I love at Foxwoods is the luxury bowling and sports lounge, High Rollers. Last year for Mark’s birthday we rented a lane for a few hours and had the best time! We decided while we were there over the weekend we needed to do it again soon!

The first thing on our itinerary was a 50 minute couples massage. This is something Mark and I love to do. We usually try to get a massage every few months. The massage was amazing, it was a full body massage with a paraffin treatment. We both picked the paraffin for our feet! Following the massage, we were brought to the couples lounge area and given champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! This was such a great treat to the end of the amazing massage.

Before heading to dinner, we had time to check out some black jack. I personally don’t gamble but it is fun to watch Mark playing and cheer him on (or bite my nails). We found a table and sat down for an hour before dinner. We were having dinner at David Burke Prime so we found a casino near by. Foxwoods actually has seven casinos to choose from! The gaming space includes more than 4,000 slots and 250 table games! Weekend Away at Foxwoods Weekend Away at Foxwoods

After our massage and some gaming, we were so ready for some dinner. We headed to David Burke Prime which is decorated in deep reds. I loved the vivacious atmosphere and it seemed as though everyone at every table was having a great time! We enjoyed some amazing red wine, an appetizer of spicy calamari, and each got a delicious filet! For desert we indulged in a chocolate lava cake and were treated with some cotton candy! Now I am hungry all over again thinking about this!

David Burke Prime is just one of the over 35 dining experiences. One thing I noticed was a new Sugar Factory opened up! I have been dying to try their drinks so I think Mark and I will need to take another trip!

We ended our stay with a little bit of shopping at the Tanger Outlets. If you got a chance to catch my Insta Stories from when we were there you probably saw my try on session! I love the outlets and always have to check them out when we are there. Some of the over 80 retail outlet stores include H&M, Coach, J. Crew Factory, and Steve Madden!

We got to sleep in which was one of my favorite parts of our stay! Mark and I are already looking forward to our next stay at Foxwoods! Comment below on your favorite place for a weekend away!
