I love chocolate, anything chocolate! And today’s post is dedicated to a sweet and delicious treat that was inspired by one of my great friend’s favorite molten lava cake recipe. After receiving an abundance of barkTHINs, I knew I wanted to make a sweet treat for Mark and I to enjoy. Mark loves molten lava cakes and instead of buying the frozen version, I decided to whip up some of my own! It turned out to be extremely easy and can be easily frozen to enjoy at a later time! You could also make a bunch for a dinner party ahead of time and heat them up right before desert! Keep reading to find this oh so simple (and delicious) recipe!
6 ounces Dark Chocolate Almond with sea salt barkTHINS 2 ounces Dark Chocolate Peanut with sea salt barkTHINS 1 and 1/4 stick of butter 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1 and 1/2 cup of confectioners sugar 3 large eggs 3 egg yolks 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. 1. Grease 6 (6-ounce) custard cups.
2. Melt the barkTHIN chocolates and butter in the microwave, or in a double boiler.
3. Add the flour and sugar to chocolate mixture. Stir in the eggs and yolks until smooth. Stir in the vanilla. Divide the batter evenly among the custard cups.
4. Place in the oven and bake for 14 minutes. The edges should be firm but the center will be runny.
5. Run a knife around the edges to loosen and invert onto dessert plates.
Enjoy immediately with a scoop of ice cream or fresh berries or wrap in cling wrap for storage in the freezer. To reheat, remove from cling wrap and microwave for 1 minute.
